Caribbean Sailing Vacations by Ed Hamilton
MEET OUR STAFF

Ed sailed from England to the B.V.I. in 1972. He became a manager for The Moorings, which was then a small company in the process of expanding its fleet. In 1975, he co-founded his own bareboat company and within six years was operating a fleet of 55 boats. In the many years he has been in the business, Ed has operated two major bareboat companies, helped design several successful charter yachts, been a charter yacht skipper and taught sailing professionally up to bareboat certification. He sails regularly throughout the Eastern Caribbean and is well qualified to help clients with any part of their charter vacation.

Steve grew up sailing the waters of Penobscot Bay, first learning the finer points of sailing racing dinghies, and later finding his passion for finding what’s over the horizon and visiting hidden anchorages realized in cruising boats. He has been involved with all aspects of the yacht charter industry since starting in a sales position with Sun Yacht Charters. Quickly moving to management, he oversaw the rebranding of Sun Yachts into Stardust. He later moved to Annapolis, Maryland where he was asked to manage the merger of Stardust into Sunsail; ultimately being appointed General Manager of Sunsail USA. He has sailed many locations in the Caribbean, South Pacific, and East Coast and particularly enjoys chatting with customers to find the right boat and cruising ground for them. Steve joined Ed Hamilton & Co in 2007.

Before joining us in 2008, Susan worked for Sunsail for 11 years, eventually becoming their top broker. In addition to arranging literally thousands of charter vacations, she has chartered a bareboat herself in almost every part of the world. She can therefore describe the merits of virtually any bareboat and discuss almost any cruising ground from first hand experience.† She feels lucky to be able to combine her career with her passion for sailing (she owns a Beneteau 40 which she cruises on the East Coast) and looks forward to helping others enjoy a wonderful yacht charter vacation. Susan joined Ed Hamilton & Co. in 2008 and is a bareboat charter agent.

Jackie previously worked for Sun Yacht Charters, in charter administration, but joined us in 2003. She is a keen sailor and cruises regularly in The Caribbean. She is a bareboat broker.
Lynne joined Bahamas Yachting Service in 1982. She was reservations manager when B.Y.S. and Stevens Yachts merged with Sunsail. She became Sunsail's charter manager at their head office, where she was involved in all aspects of chartering. She joined our company in 1994.
A keen sailor from childhood, Barbara managed the stateside office of a Caribbean charter company, before meeting Ed and moving to Maine in 1982. She has traveled extensively and knows The Caribbean well. Originally involved in all aspects, she now focuses on the financial side of the company.

The success of a charter brokerage depends largely on how familiar the company's brokers are with the boats and crews they represent, and the cruising areas they offer.

With so many years combined experience, we are one of the most qualified charter brokerages in the industry. We feel that there is no substitute for seeing a boat or cruising ground first hand.
