It's not too late to take advantage of some super savings this summer.  Not only are rates at their lowest between now and October 31st, but many bareboat companies offer additional incentives in the late summer and early fall.

Charter companies generally offer two types of discount schemes. If you have the time, the ones that give extra days (ie 10 days for the price of 7) normally are the best value, because the company has covered their weekly cleaning / turn around costs and can afford to give more away. Straight price discounts generally range between 10% and 25%, off already reduced rates.  With multiple discounts it can be confusing - give us a call and we will be happy to show you how to get the lowest price.

You should always look for the best value and this is not always the boat with the lowest charter fee. A boat might be less expensive for a reason, particularly if other boats in the fleet are reduced less or not at all. Why is this boat cheaper, ie not as popular? Every week we get lots of follow up critiques from our bareboat charter guests, so we have up to the minute knowledge on which charter company's guests are returning satisfied and which boats in a company's fleet are giving trouble. In reality, no boat is reliable all the time and we measure a company on how quickly they respond to a problem rather than the fact they had a problem. You should therefore not go by one person's experience - it's our volume that gives us such a good over-all picture of the charter companies and industry trends. Even the sailing magazines contact us when they are researching an article!

In The Caribbean, the winter months are of course more expensive, as everyone wants to get away from the weather back home, but the reason August, September and October are so very inexpensive is of course, the hurricane season. Though there have been more storms in recent years, in reality direct hits to the Eastern Caribbean are rare and are well forecasted. Taking a bareboat at a fraction of the cost is often well worth the savings - very few of our summer charters are affected by storms.
Though they don't cover every situation, it is even more important to purchase a trip insurance policy at this time of the year. Ask us for details of different options.

So, check out our bareboat specials, send us an email, or better yet, give us a call and we will be happy to help you find a great deal, and keep you from tucking that swimsuit to the back of the drawer too soon!
