IMPORTANT VISA INFORMATION for visitors from certain countries travelling to The Eastern Caribbean between February 1st and May 15th, 2007

February 2007
During the Cricket World Cup, which is hosted in the West Indies this spring,
the following islands are requiring visitors from some countries to have a
special visa when visiting between February 1 and May 15, 2007.
The islands affected are:
Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Kitts &
Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & The Grenadines, and Trinidad & Tobago.
Nationals of the following countries and their dependent territories DO NOT
REQUIRE this visa:
USA, Canada, England, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Ireland,
South Africa, Japan and National and residents of CARICOM member states
(except Haiti).
Anyone needing a visa can find more information at www.caricomimpacs.org.
This will only apply to relatively few people, but it is important for those affected to make the proper arrangements. The process can involve sending away your passport to another country, so you should start the process right away.
Many Australians are travelling to The Caribbean for the cricket matches and there is an office in Sydney, overlooking the harbor, but as of a short while ago, the machinery had not arrived to issue visas, which has caused confusion.
The other very real problem is for the yacht crews, who are constantly on charter and need their passports to move from island to island. Provisions are being set up for them to be able to get visas locally
We have contacted all of our guests with charters booked in the area the visa will be required, but if anyone still needs assistance, do please contact us. Remember, charters booked in The Virgin Islands or around St. Martin are NOT affected and if you are a US, Canadian or British citizen, this visa does NOT apply to you.
