SOME YACHT SUGGESTIONS FOR A MEDITERRANEAN CHARTER
Emily - May 2009
The yachts in the Mediterranean are as varied as the ports of call. Here we will explore a few of the available yachts for charter this Summer.
'Anam Cara' is a 50' Beneteau who bases herself in Turkey but she will also charter in the Greek Isles. She was built in 2000 and offers a very attractive price starting at 4100 Euro per week, these rates are inclusive of half board, typical among smaller yachts in the Mediterranean.
'Cookielicious' is a 72' Oyster built in 2007. Her sleek design is attractive and smart, keeping the modern amenities concealed but still within reach, for example the hydraulic hidden flat-screen television in the salon. This is one of the few smaller yachts for charter who is effortlessly capable of keeping Kosher. The charter fee for 'Cookielicious' starts at 15,500 British Pounds per week, plus expenses.
There is something very romantic about the lines of a traditional Turkish Motor Sailor, and 'Awol Again' embraces this look and pairs it with remarkable luxury. Built in 2004, this 90' yacht accommodates 8 guests in the Eastern Mediterranean starting at 31,500 Euros per week plus expenses. This is just one example of this style of boat. 'Gulets' come in all size and price ranges and can offer incredible value, particularly when chartered in Turkey.
Another impressive yacht is the 210 foot Perini Navi 'Felicita West'. With a maximum speed of 17 knots 'Felicita West' is one of the largest and fastest sailing yachts in the world. Her master stateroom boasts a full beam width of 41 feet. The entire boat has a luxurious and expansive feel with several different seating areas both inside and out, including her large aft deck and flybridge. This lovely yacht charters for 175,000 Euro per week.
Switching to motor yachts, 'IFA Cannes' is a lovely 2007 Moira accommodating 8 guests comfortably. The design makes good use of her 90 feet, cleverly concealing the tender in a garage beneath the sunpads forward. 'IFA Cannes' charters for 35,000 Euro per week, plus expenses.
'Elisabeth F' is a stunning power yacht. This 175' Feadship features hardwood floors throughout the salon and formal dining room, and modern furniture. She has some nice accents, like the teak sinks in the stateroom heads. Equipped with a full compliment of water toys, gym machinery, a Sonos sound system throughout and an outdoor cinema on the bridge deck, this luxury yacht commands 150,000 Euro per week plus expenses.
These are just some of the yachts available for charter in The Mediterranean this summer. Tell us your plans and we would be happy to describe many others and help you narrow down your choices.
