Mauricio Sobrino ~ Captain: Mauricio is an enthusiastic person and passionate about the sea, he strives to ensure a most memorable experience ensuring the utmost in luxury service, while also being acutely aware of the safety of his passengers and crew.
He has worked for over 15 years on both private and international charters yachts ranging in size and design, providing him with the opportunity to navigate throughout the Mexican Caribbean, Central America, Bahamas, Cuba, Cayman Islands and East Coast of the United States, US Virgin Islands, BVI´S, Windward Islands and Leeward Island. Mauricio has excellent leadership capabilities, he oversees the running of Nomada with precision and care. He has an enthusiastic personality and zest for life.

Sofia Lopez ~ Chef: Sofia studied in the culinary institute in Mexico City, after which she trained in Millesime, serving one of Rodolfo Castellanos’s original plates that won Top Chef México in 2016. Following this, she joined Hacienda De Los Morales where she was head chef, overseeing service, staff, and cuisine. Sofia creates fine dining menus and enjoys using all local ingredients where possible, she is passionate about her dishes, presentation and delivering exceptional meals. Her specialties are french classic, Mexican and occidental cuisine. Recently she decided to move to Cancun to expand her experience and enter the world of luxury yachting, in just 3 days of arriving Sofia was invited to a grilling challenge of “Festival Gastronómico Cultural” and won the 1st place, showcasing her capabilities and strengths. Every meal she prepares as is it for her own family with extreme pride, detail, and care.

Christian Garrido Torres ~ First Mate/Engineer: As first mate and engineer, hailing from Cancun, Christian has always had a passion for the sea and therefore naturally has chosen the yachting industry. Having worked on some notable yachts, he brings with him a good and complete understanding of luxury charters. Christian is a motivated individual, always willing to gain further knowledge within in the industry and beyond. With his easy-going, yet professional personality, he is happy to pitch in assisting the captain and crew where he is needed, in addition to his role aboard. In his spare time, he stays active with water sports and fitness.

Benito Polanco Gonzolez ~ Dive instructor: Benito has many years of experience in the yachting industry, he is an accomplished captain, keen cook, and qualified scuba instructor. (Available for charters with diving requests)
