We have quoted Linda and Joe's letter in full. They chartered 'Metani' in January, 2004

Wow! This is how we describe our vacation with Judy and David Ramage and their Yacht 'Metani'. It was all we expected and much more. Judy and David were gracious hosts and the boat was wonderful. Of course, the islands and the weather played a small part for us. David picked us up in the dingy at Young Island Cut on the morning of January 17 (which was Joe's birthday). He dingy'd us to the yacht and introduced us to Judy (she was ready with tea and cookies to welcome us aboard). We took off our sneakers and put them in our berth and they never returned to our feet until we set foot on the dock on our way to the airport one week later. The only shoes we wore were our flip flops (which were left in the dinghy for shore trips).

The food...there are no words to describe the meals Judy prepared in her small galley. She could be a chef in any 5 star restaurant. Our entrees included shrimp, lobster (caught locally and sold to Judy by a boat boy in Bequia), wonderful lobster salad for lunch the next day with the leftovers, pork tenderloin, leg of lamb, lamb hoagies for lunch served on a baguette bought fresh on Union Island, cornish hens and steak so tender you didn't need a knife, let alone a steak knife. Desserts were also superb. Judy even prepared a marvelous carrot cake with carmelized carrots for Joe's birthday and her baked pineapple was stupendous. Wine was served with all our dinner meals especially chosen by David. The fresh fruit (mango, papaya, pineapple, passion fruit, bananas), fresh squeezed orange juice and fruit smoothies for breakfast each day were out of this world. Each evening while we awaited Judy's culinary adventures in the galley, David prepared drinks to include rum punch and fresh banana daquiries. Needless to say, we didn't want for hunger during our 8 days with Judy and David.

The sailing, weeeee! We had such a good time. We were worried about sea sickness, never an inkling of such.

The Yacht was gorgeous, it is hard to believe that David built it himself, you can see his love for his yacht in the way he cares for it. Our cabin was exactly what we expected, small and compact, but very comfortable. We didn't spend much time in there anyway, too much sun, surf, sailing and snorkeling to enjoy. Learning the marine toilet routine was a hoot.

The islands were astounding, we saw as much as we could in one short week. Bequia won our hearts. Snorkeled in the crystal clear waters of the Tobago Keys (tide rougher than we thought) but saw so many remarkable fish with Judy as our snorkeling guide. We also snorkeled on the reefs off Union Island, Canouan Island and Petit St. Vincent. The water was remarkably warm for mid January. The sun was hot but with the constant breezes it fooled you, sunscreen was needed by all. Our walk over the top of the island of Mayreau was a highlight, there is a small Catholic Church right on the top where the views are breathtaking. The island people are very friendly and welcoming.

All in all, we cannot put into words this wonderful week. Judy and David and Yacht 'Metani' was a most rewarding experience! Thank you Judy and David!!!

We were delayed on our return home and marooned in Miami for 2 nights as we had snow and ice in the Raleigh Durham area, but this time gave us the chance to regain our composure before returning to the "real world".

Best Wishes,

Linda and Joe
