Bareboat companies ask that you pay for your charter an average of 45 - 60 days in advance (excluding cruising permits and some miscellaneaous fees collected on arrival).

We strongly recommend you consider trip insurance to protect your vacation investment. If you, a family member, or a travelling companion suddenly become ill, trip insurance will allow you to file a claim for all the nonrefundable payments you have made, up to the insured value. Coverage can also include cancellation due to jury duty, subpoena, as well as cancellation or interruption due to a hurricane (but read the fine print carefully). Airline tickets may be nonrefundable or have a rescheduling fee. These costs can also covered by trip insurance. Once you've started your vacation, the possible coverage continues with Trip Interruption/Delay; Baggage Delay/Loss; Medical & Dental Expenses, and Emergency Medical Transportation.

Each bareboat company has their own cancellation policy, and it is not unusual for payments to be nonrefundable if you cancel your charter as much as 90 days prior to your start date. Some companies offer their own trip insurance policy, and this optional cost is added to your initial invoice. We offer Global Care (CSA Travel Protection) and Travel Guard for those bareboat companies which don't offer insurance and as another alternative to the charter company's coverage, which you may decline.

Once you book your charter with us, you'll have access to links for both Global Care (CSA) and Travel Guard in the "confirmed charter" section of our website. A simple click will allow you to get instant quotes, explore the different coverage options, and purchase your policy right on line.

You've worked hard and perhaps saved long for this dream vacation. It's worth a little extra to have peace of mind in the event the unexpected happens.
