Though there were many great yachts and crews participating in the private 2005 Spring Show for charter brokers, 'Pas de Deux' really made a lasting impression. She was anchored in Red Hook Harbor which gave brokers a real on-water experience. Captain Chris Plowman taxied me out in their brand new 14', 50hp dinghy. As if on cue, a dolphin was surfacing just off the port hull. Joanne Vidler, chef and hostess, greeted us on the transom. Access to and from the dinghy is very easy with large, wide steps leading to the modern open cockpit. A center oval cockpit table easily accommodates 6 guests. Joanne has some lovely china and table settings making both interior and outside dining a luxurious experience. The comfortable saloon has two large, soft leather settees and is separated from the fully equiped galley and dining area by a bar, a comfortable space for relaxing or enjoying the gourmet cooking Joanne creates in the galley.

Three guest cabins open off the salon. The master cabin is in the port hull and features a walk around queen size bed, desk with laptop computer and internet access. Two identical double cabins are forward, with queen size beds that taper at the foot. Each cabin has luxurious 1200 count Egyptian cotton sheets, true mattresses, individual air conditioning, an ensuite head, attractive portholes, DVD players and original oil paintings. Chris & Joanne take the starboard aft cabin. The decks are wide and uncluttered, making passage around the boat safe. Large trampolines forward are great for sun seekers and the bow seats are rarely empty on charter.

Chris and Joanne, both from Kent, UK, have plenty of chartering experience working for The Moorings for over 2 years and a high-end 90' Camper & Nicholson sloop for one year. Chris is a qualified sailing instructor and loves to have guests participate in the sailing. He is also happy to teach windsurfing. Joanne is very flexible with her menu and has a wide range of culinary training, ranging from working on an organic farm in the Whitsunday Islands to formal culinary school in England. Chris and Joanne are engaged and looking forward to their wedding next year. They are a lovely, detail oriented, professional crew.
