Tortola is in the center of The British Virgin Island
cruising ground and is the largest island in the group.
Road Town is the capital and offers low key shopping
and some nice bars and restaurants, with an easy,
laid back atmosphere.

The Moorings is one of several major bareboat
charter companies based in Road Town.

Cane Garden Bay is a crescent of white sand and
palm trees with popular restaurants and bars to
provide lively entertainment.
A good place to find a steel band.

Watch the beautiful sunset over St Thomas while
ashore or relaxing on your boat.
 

This colorful and picture perfect harbor can be a
bit busy as it is also a port of entry but moorings
are available for day or night.  There are some
great shops to browse in and an excellent
provisioning store.  There is even an ATM in case
you are running low on cash.  Several restaurants
offer very good dining for lunch and dinner and
if you are spending the night you will have a
great sunset view over St. Thomas.
 

Marina Cay and The Last Resort are both popular
restaurants (with some great music) on small islands
off Tortola's east end.

The Last Resort's owners and staff will entertain
you with a great buffet, casual songs and much humor. 

Pussers, on Marina Cay offers good food in their restaurant
on the beach and great music on select nights in the
bar on the hill overlooking the anchorage. 

Go further in to shore to the large anchorage of Trellis Bay
where there is an assortment of shops with local
merchandise and several restaurants to choose from.

Reasonably priced and a bit quieter is Donovans Reef on Scrub

These anchorages are only an hour from the Baths
if you want to arrive early.
 

For the serious (and thick skinned) party goer,
the infamous Bomba's Shack is the place to be
on a full moon night.
