Most charterers board the ferry at Charlotte Amalie rather than Red Hook. This is a short cab ride from the St. Thomas airport and is within walking distance of the famous duty free stores on main street.
If your charter company or crew are meeting you at the ferry in Tortola, it is important for you to know if they will be at the West End or Road Town terminal. If you are staying in Road Town, check to see if your ferry continues on to Road Town (no extra charge). If your ferry does not continue to Road Town, taxis are available from the ferry terminal at West End. If you are unsure of what you should do, please ask us. Times for the newer catamaran ferry known as the 'Tortola Fast Ferry' are also included. This ferry goes directly into Road Town.

Between CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas and TORTOLA. Round trip fare is $55 per person. One way, $30. 45 - 60 minutes to West End, an additional 15 minutes to Road Town. Ferries stopping at West End are marked below with "W". All passengers must disembark at West End to clear customs and immigration. Those ferries that continue on to Road Town are indicated below by "R". The 'Fast Ferry' goes directly to Road Town. The taxi from St. Thomas Airport to the ferry dock in Charlotte Amalie is approximately $6 per person - 10 minute ride. Taxi from West End to Road Town is approximately $8 per person - 20 minute ride. |
