*Preview*: SYDNEY, FROM CITY TO SEA ADVENTURES
There are few harbours in the world which naturally provide a myriad of safe and secluded anchorages.
Even less which are on the doorstep of one of the world’s most admired cities – Sydney. Just a gentle cruise from the icon Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House, you can find yourself along in a bay in full Australian sunshine in crystal clear waters. Sydney offers extensive cruising from metropolitan feels to remote national parks, all within 4 hours of steaming!
Although called HARBOUR, this can seem misleading in terms of how much there is to do in and around Sydney: it indeed spreads over 240km (149miles) of shoreline and 55km2 in total. The Shoreline between St Tropez and Monaco represents approximately 100km (62miles)!
__________

New Year’s Eve
Few words can describe the sensation of cruising aboard a private yacht on one of the world’s most iconic natural harbours.
Sydney Harbour defines a superyacht exclusion zone on the night of the 31st December.

A 6 knot minimum wash speed limit applies from 3pm on New Year’s Eve until 2am on New Year’s Day.

__________
*Preview*: THE WHITSUNDAY ISLANDS, GETAWAY TO THE GREAT BARRIER REEF
There are 74 islands in the Whitsunday Island group each with their own safe and secluded anchorages in which to laze away.

Although tropical, the islands are remnants of ancient volcanic mountains and stand proudly out of an azure sea encircled by reef and golden beaches. Nothing moves too fast in the Whitsunday Islands. Each relaxing day here is like the perfect Sunday filled with bright skies, blue water and soft breezes. Walk on the world-famous Whitehaven Beach, discover Aboriginal art in Nara Inlet, shop on vibrant Hamilton Island or enjoy the solitude of Butterfly Bay, how not to mention the fantastic underwater life… Snorkel, Dive with a local expert after dropping anchor above Hardy Reef, set on a fishing morning to bring your catch back to the Chef on board, learn about coral conservation and the resilience of the superb reef environment.

CAPTAIN | Craig Pearson | Australian
PREVIOUS YACHTS: GHOST 1, SUN GODDESS, TANGO.
CRAIG HAS CRUISED: Australia, South Pacific.

*Meet Captain Craig on board GHOST II: https://vimeo.com/219463506/029f3876a5

Growing up on the East Coast of Australia, Craig’s background in the marine industry commenced with Maritime law enforcement and Marine investigations roles thanks to his Police background.
What moved him to the superyacht industry? “Looking after guests instead of goods, and that feeling that guests make your day!”.
From there Craig moved into work as a master of trading vessels up and down the east coast of Australia. He fell in love with the Whitsunday region and became master of a 30m superyacht that serviced that region, cruising the multiple islands in the Whitsunday group and both the inner and outer Great Barrier reefs.
Craig’s passions – no secret – are all water related. He loves waterskiing, competitive sailing and snorkelling. Craig is fortunate he has travelled up and down the Australian east coast finding hidden jewel locations to escape to.
When relocating GHOST II to the Whitsundays, Craig names a few of his favourite experiences:
– Snorkelling and diving at Blue Pearl Bay, Nara Inlet and Manta Ray Bay
– Anchor in Stonehaven after a beach picnic with the family
Whilst in Sydney Harbour, in Summer, his absolute favourite moments are:
– A kayak adventure in the harbour creeks, discovering stingrays swimming under the transparent structure
– A picnic setup at Store Beach, and then an excursion to Brisbane waters, where kids will love playing around the sand islands
– Anchoring in the Hawksbury River, transferring guests for a long leisurely lunch at the famous Peats Bite (an absolute must!), exploring Refuge and Jerusalem bays for watersports.
